Programs now support Jira issue links
Your Program can now leverage existing Jira issue links to relate issues on a team backlog to issues on the Program Roadmap!
We've learned this scenario is common and groups often have a Kanban board that contains higher level Features for the Program (or Agile Release Train). They then link these Features to issues on the team agile boards using a Jira issue link.
By allowing you to choose an issue link type, clicking on a scheduled issue on the roadmap "filters" down your view of all the work scheduled and in the team's backlog that relates to that higher level roadmap issue.
Here's what it looks like in product:
In past releases, we only supported scheduling Epics onto the Program Roadmap (meaning, we only supported the Jira Software Epic Link for relating those Epics to issues on the team's backlogs).
As of 1.3.0, you can schedule any issue type onto the Program Roadmap and you'll have 3 configuration options:
- use Jira Software Epic Links and roadmap items from team agile boards
- use Jira Software Epic Links and roadmap items from a dedicated roadmap agile board
- use Jira Issue Links and roadmap items from a dedicated roadmap agile board
