Migrating

Migrating from Server to Cloud?

We understand many of our customers are undergoing a shift from on-premises to Cloud instances of Jira given Atlassian announcement to end of life Server.

To compare cloud migration methods, please visit this page by Atlassian Support.

Jira Cloud Migration Assistant

The Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA) is a free Jira Server/DC app offered by Atlassian via the Marketplace. For more information about Atlassian support moving to Jira Cloud, see Atlassian's Cloud migration center.

Suitable for:

  • Server to Cloud

  • Data Center to Cloud

What you need:

Jira Cloud Migration Assistant can be used to migrate Roadmaps data under the following conditions:

  • You are using Easy Agile Roadmaps v4.3.0 or higher

  • You have chosen to use JCMA to migrate your Jira Data

  • Easy Agile Roadmaps is installed on the destination Jira Cloud instance

  • You must have Jira administrator permission

Are you eligible for dual licensing? Learn more about it here.

How does it work?

Follow the steps on how to use the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant to migrate Roadmaps data to your Cloud instance. During the Assess your apps stage, status of Needed in Cloud should be assigned to Roadmaps to enable it for JCMA migration. Using JCMA, you will be able to migrate Roadmaps data related to Theme Swimlanes and Date Markers.

As the migration occurs based on project selection, the data migrated for Roadmaps will depend on the projects being migrated. Roadmaps data will only be migrated for the boards which belong to the Projects selected during migration.

Site Import

How does it work?

The data which Easy Agile Roadmaps relies on is safely stored in your Jira projects and will be seamlessly migrated with your Jira data without any additional effort.

Migrating from Server to Data Center

Migrating from Server to Data Center is easy. Simply change your license key in Manage Apps and our app will continue to work as before.

(info) We recommend that you migrate from the newest version of our app to the same version on Data Center. This will reduce the likelihood of errors occurring during migration.

Visit Atlassian’s documentation on migrating from Server to Data Center.

What if the Server version of Easy Agile Roadmaps is out of date? How do I upgrade to the latest version?

Existing customers can continue to purchase new Server Marketplace apps until February 15, 2023 PT. However, after February 15, 2024, Server Marketplace apps will reach end of support. (Source)

Migrating your license between hostings

FAQs

Can I migrate a Roadmap which uses a multi project (or cross project) board?

Currently, the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant doesn't support cross-project boards migration. This is a known limitation and has been raised with Atlassian. Since a Roadmap is constructed using Jira board data, the Roadmap will not be migrated if the board populating it are not migrated.

Can I migrate from a multi-node DC instance?

There are currently some issues migrating from multi-node DC instances which Atlassian are aware of. We hope to have a fix implemented for this limitation in the medium term. In the meantime as a workaround, Atlassian suggest that users with multi-node DC instances using only one node while completing JCMA migrations.
