The new Easy Agile Roadmaps includes not only new functionality, but reimagines and improves the existing functionality long-time users are familiar with.
Reimagined functionality
Finding the app in Jira
The new experience can be accessed from Jira’s top-level navigation in the Apps section:
This takes you to the full list of Roadmaps.

You’ll also still have access to the Roadmap for your Jira board from the project navigation:

Add new items from your backlog
The unscheduled issues panel (opened with an “Epics” or “Issues” button in the top right-hand corner of the app) has been replaced by the “Add work items” button.

Date syncing, or manually publish changes
Easy Agile Roadmaps continues to sync changes on the roadmap to date fields in Jira.
Enabling date syncing is now easier than ever, with direct links to incomplete field configurations.

You can now also disable date syncing and manually choose which changes to publish:

Theme swimlanes
Customizable theme swimlanes are still displayed, only when hierarchy is switched off:

Adjusting the view and timescale
Adjust your view of the roadmap with buttons in the header:
-
Adjust the time scale from the dropdown instead of the “…” menu
-
Set the time scale to years, as well as weeks, months or quarters
-
Jump to now with the “Today” button, replacing the clock icon
-
Change the date range to see items in a specific period

Get to know the controls in the roadmap menu.
Date and version markers
Markers are still available for both:
-
Release versions from Jira
-
Custom date markers

Show or hide date or version markers from the view menu.
-
You can now also show or hide the “Today” marker.
-
Showing or hiding specific version markers is no longer possible.

Filters
Find the “Filters” button in the app header, instead of “Quick filters”.
You can now filter items on the roadmap by hierarchy level, type, or status.

Quick filters from your Jira board are no longer available.
Learn more about filtering the roadmap.
Export
Exporting is now available from the button in the header, instead of “Download PDF” in the “…” menu.

The roadmap can now be exported as a PNG, instead of a PDF.
Learn more about exporting and sharing your roadmap.
Permissions
The app still uses Jira permissions to manage viewing and editing work items.
Jira data is fetched on page load using your Jira authentication. You can view or edit an item or version in the app if you can do the same action in Jira.
Anyone can create a new roadmap.
New functionality
Create unlimited roadmaps
Easy Agile Roadmaps previously provided one roadmap for each Jira board.
You can now create as many roadmaps as you need to based on your needs. Alternatively, apply filters to a roadmap for different views.
With Jira synchronization, plans across roadmaps will stay in sync.
Multi-board roadmaps
You can now include items from multiple Jira boards in one Roadmap.
You’ll have the option to select additional boards when creating or editing a roadmap.

Hierarchy visualization
Enable hierarchy view to see how items ladder up to bigger-picture work.
In this view, items will show under their parent items.

This uses the work type hierarchy configured in Jira.
