The roadmaps upgrade rollout
The new Easy Agile Roadmaps experience is being rolled out gradually through late 2025 for our Cloud customers.
How will the rollout work?
The upgrade will be released to Cloud customers in phases.
When the new experience is rolled out to your Jira site:
All users on the same Jira Cloud site will gain access at the same time.
Existing roadmaps will be automatically upgraded to the new experience.
Users can opt out of the experience and convert the Roadmap for their Jira board back to the Classic experience for a limited time. Opt-out is managed on a per-board basis.
Users on the Roadmap for the same Jira board will have the same experience.
If you have access to multiple Jira Cloud sites (e.g. mycompany.atlassian.net and anothercompany.atlassian.net), you may see the upgrade roll out on different dates to different sites.
Who has access to the new experience?
Some customers already have access:
Cloud customers who started using the app on or after February 12, 2025, already have access to the new experience.
Cloud customers on the free (10 users or fewer) tier of the app already have access to the new experience.
New Cloud evaluators and customers who installed Easy Agile Roadmaps on or after August 13, 2025, only have access to the new experience.
The new experience will be rolled out to other customers beginning in mid-September.
How will I know when the update will be rolled out to my Jira site?
Ahead of the rollout to your Jira site, you’ll see an announcement banner in the Easy Agile Roadmaps app.
We’ll also contact customers by emailing:
The administrator contacts associated with the license
Users who have subscribed to product updates through the in-app form
If you’d like the new experience earlier, let us know here! We can roll out the upgrade to all users on your Jira site earlier by request.
If you’re not a Jira Administrator yourself, we’ll need to confirm this with your Jira Administrator too.
When will I lose access to Classic Roadmaps?
You’ll have a minimum of 4 weeks after the rollout of New Roadmaps where you can opt-out and return to the Classic interface.
You’ll be notified again in-app and by email.
After this time, all existing roadmaps can be used with the new interface only.
Administrative updates
Changes to data storage
All data for Easy Agile Roadmaps was previously stored on your Jira site: the app primarily used Jira items/issues, with small amounts of additional data stored as hidden entity properties on the board and items. This limited the functionality we were able to add to the app.
The upgraded experience adds more advanced functionality:
Create a roadmap from multiple Jira boards, instead of just one
Publish selected changes to Jira, as an alternative addition to automatic syncing
To enable these improvements, app-specific data is now stored in Easy Agile’s cloud servers.
This includes a roadmap’s name and configuration, custom date markers and theme swimlanes, and unsaved changes.
Easy Agile never stores a copy of your Jira data.
Easy Agile’s cloud services are SOC 2 Type II certified to keep your data safe. Learn more on trust.easyagile.com.

No configuration changes
Jira Administrators will not need to update the app, re-install, or change the app license.
Data will be automatically migrated.
The Easy Agile Roadmaps “Configuration” page in Jira admin settings will not be changed.
The Start Date and End Date fields selected here will continue to be used for date syncing.
Users with Jira Administrator permission will also now be able to adjust the selected date fields when creating new roadmaps; the same pair of fields will be used for all roadmaps on the Jira site.
